Caffè Pedrocchi is one of the symbols of Padova, located in the heart of the very heart of the city.

Coffee consumption by the European bourgeoisie grew very popular during the 18th century. As a result, in 1772 Francesco Pedrocchi of Bergamo founded this original and very successful coffee shop, near the University of Padova, the town hall, and the markets.

It became the central hub and the social heartbeat of the city.

In 1831, Francesco’s son Antonio expanded the coffee house to cover an entire block by hiring Venetian architect Giuseppe Jappelli to redesign the premise. He integrated different buildings and facades into a single unit, creating an eclectic extension. The interior is neoclassical in style, with marble floors and pillars while adorned with graceful ornamentation.

Over the marble threshold and into the illustrious cafe, even the tables are lined up to near perfection!

Famous artists such as Stendhal, Lord Byron, Dario Fo and several others have spent much time here.

Boat excursion and dinner

Program (time tba)

Departure by bus from the Conference Venue (Fiera di Padova) in the late afternoon. 

Boarding  followed by a Welcome cocktail while sailing  the Venetian Lagoon during sunset. 

Dinner will be served on board. 

After dinner, free walking tour in Piazza San Marco. 

Return to Padova (Fiera di Padova) around midnight.

• Casual outfit and comfortable shoes with non-slip rubber soles are highly recommended (the pier and the boat may be wet and slippery)

• No animal or large object will be admitted on board. 

• The excursion is not recommended for people suffering from seasickness.
